Proficiency in English for Describing Hotel Room Services: A Study of Ogan Hilir Hotel Employees

This study aims to analyze the ability of hotel employees in Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra, in explaining guest room facilities using English. English is an important skill for hotel employees to improve communication with foreign guests, especially in the area's growing hospitality sector. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observations and documentation. The participants of this study were 15 employees from several hotels in Ogan Ilir. This study measures their ability to use terms related to hotel facilities, such as room types, equipment, and available services. The results of the study show that the majority of employees have basic skills in using English, but there are still difficulties in explaining room facilities in detail and professionally. Some of the factors that affect these abilities are the lack of language training, formal education level, and work experience in the hospitality industry. This study recommends the existence of a special needs-based English training program in the hospitality sector to improve employee communication skills. This finding is also expected to be a consideration for hotel management in improving service quality through the development of human resources who are more skilled in English.

WebQual Method for Analyzing the Service Quality of the Hospital Complaint Website on User Satisfaction

The Hospital Complaints Website acts as a forum for the public to convey complaints, aspirations, and complaints regarding hospital performance, so the importance of the quality of service on this website cannot be ignored. Researchers are interested in conducting a more comprehensive study regarding the quality of hospital complaint websites. The research aims to measure the quality of service on the hospital complaints website by paying attention to several aspects of the user and looking for obstacles found on the Hospital Complaints website. The data collection method involves the acquisition of primary research data using the WebQual method as the main conceptual framework for analyzing the quality of services contained in the Hospital Complaints website which emphasizes assessing the quality of satisfaction with using the website which consists of four variables: usability quality, information quality, service interaction quality, and user satisfaction, while secondary data research carried out questionnaires and interviews with staff, patients and hospital leaders as many as 41 respondents to obtain quantitative data. To obtain quantitative data, the researcher compiled a series of valid research instruments that describe the relationship between several research dimensions in the WebQual method, including 4 variables and 26 questions. The data collected will be the basis for solving the problem that is the focus of the research and testing the hypothesis that has been formulated. Previously. Based on the results of validation testing, the r counting variable consists of Quality of Use = 0.936, Quality of Information = 0.859, Quality of Service Interaction = 0.874 against the r table of satisfaction with use 0.260, where (r count > r table) is declared valid, analysis of reliability test data value Information Value Criteria Cronbach's Alpha, Usability Quality 0.909 > 0.60, Information Quality 0.919 > 0.60, Service Interaction Quality 0.854 > 0.60, User Satisfaction 0.868 > 0.60. This means that each of these variables influences user satisfaction.

Collaborative Writing Technique (CWT): Elevators Students’ Writing Performance

This study aimed to improve the students’ writing skill and their activeness through collaborative writing technique (CWT). The subject were 25 students of phase E at SMA Insan Cendikia Sriwijaya Palembang in academic year 2023/2024. Data collection technique used writing test and observation. This study is classroom action research (CAR) which was conducted into three cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages; planning, action, observation and reflection. The result in Cycle I, the average score is 68.08 with the classical achievement 52%. In Cycle II, the average score is 79.44 with the classical achievement 76%. The last, Cycle III has 87.24 average score with 92% as the classical achievement. Those increasement obtained the success criteria of this study. In conclusion, the implementation of CWT could improve the phase E students’ writing skill at SMA Insan Cendikia Sriwijaya Palembang.

The methods used in this study are observations on the religious Friday program, interviews with the Head of the Islamic Religious Education Study Program, staff/lecturers and students who participate in the religious Friday program, documentation related to the evaluation of the religious Friday program in the formation of religious character. The results in this study include the program evaluation model used by the researcher is the CIPP evaluation model. CIPP stands for Context Evaluation, Input Evaluation, Process Evaluation, Product Evaluation.

The rapid advancement of technology and the pervasive use of the internet have significantly impacted various sectors, including education. This study explores the effectiveness of the online game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in enhancing English language skills among Junior High School students in Samarinda. The game, a popular Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) with features like voice and quick chat, provides an immersive environment for practicing English conversation. A quantitative method was employed, utilizing a closed-ended questionnaire to assess students' perceptions of the game's impact on their fluency, vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar skills. The findings indicate that a majority of students believe Mobile Legends: Bang Bang contributes positively to their English language development. Specifically, the game aids in vocabulary acquisition, with students reporting an increase in their vocabulary and its applicability in daily life. Additionally, the interactive nature of the game helps improve pronunciation and sentence construction, offering practical language practice in a dynamic context. Overall, the study supports the potential of integrating Mobile Legends: Bang Bang as an educational tool to enhance student engagement and foster language proficiency.

The data in this study are in the form of quotations containing discourse contexts including the context of the background (setting and scene), the context of participants (participants), the context of results (ends), the context of the mandate (act), the context of the method (key), the context of means (instruments), the context of norms (norms), and the context of types (genres) in the novel Heartbreak Motel by Ika Natassa. Data collection was obtained by reading, finding/marking, copying and grouping words included in the discourse context. The results of this study found 34 scenes containing eight elements of discourse context, namely the context of the background (setting and scene) as many as 41 data consisting of 17 time setting data and 24 place setting data, the context of participants (participants) as many as 22 participants, the context of results (ends) as many as 29 data, the context of the mandate (act) as many as 15 data, the context of the method (key) as many as 28 data, the context of the means (instrument) in the discourse is carried out verbally or directly as many as 28 data and using telephone media as many as 6 data, the context of norms (norms) in the discourse is carried out in two directions and three directions, and the context of the type (genre) in the discourse is included in fictional prose.

One of the products at Bank Jabar Banten Syariah is the iB Maslahah Hajj Savings which is a special savings for collecting funds according to Sharia for those who want to go on Hajj. The purpose of this Final Assignment is to find out the marketing strategy of the iB Maslahah Hajj Savings Product, the obstacles and solutions provided to face the obstacles in marketing the iB Maslahah Hajj Savings Product. The data collection method in the preparation of the Final Assignment is the observation method, interview, documentation with the analysis method using qualitative descriptive. The marketing strategy used is in accordance with the 4P marketing mix theory, namely, product, price, place, promotion. The obstacles faced in marketing the iB Maslahah Hajj Savings product are that prospective hajj pilgrims have a less than good mindset, the long waiting list for hajj departure, the increase in hajj costs, the decreasing level of trust, and the large number of umrah travel. The solution that has been implemented by PT. Bank Jabar Banten Syariah in facing the obstacles in marketing the iB Maslahah Hajj Savings product is to always conduct evaluations, carry out Islamic propagation, provide extra services to customers, cooperate with other institutions, and market products via online media.

This study aims to investigate effective strategies in improving product quality in the context of the culinary business. The research method used is a case study with a focus on several MSMEs in the culinary sector that have successfully implemented these strategies. Writing skills, better known as composing, are one of the four language skills taught to students who learn languages, one of which is writing short stories. As a productive skill, writing requires students to be able to explore, discover, and express ideas, feelings, experiences, and the appropriate use of language. However, in reality, not all students can show these abilities. This research focuses on the influence of learning to write short stories through a constructivism approach. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the constructivism approach used can help and make it easier for students to improve their short story writing skills before and after using the constructivism approach in writing short stories. In this study, the author uses a quasi-experimental method, without a control class or a comparison class. In the use of all these experiments, the author uses the research design of the initial test, treatment, and final test. Learning to write short stories in the initial test got an average of 69.71 and in the final test got an average of 77.59. In the results oft calculating>t table is obtained 10.001 > 2.028, as well as a significance of 0.00 < 0.05. This proves that the constructivism method is effective and very reliable applied to learning to write short stories. The learning results using the constructivism approach are proven to help students find ideas and thoughts in writing short stories by paying attention to the elements that build short stories (theme, plot, setting) and language (spelling and diction).

This study aims to explore the influence of gamer videos on YouTube on the acquisition of noun vocabulary among elementary school children. Using a qualitative approach, the study examines how children's interaction with gaming video content affects their vocabulary development. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 5 children, participatory observation, and video transcript analysis. The results indicate that children who regularly watch gamer videos show significant improvement in their understanding and use of new noun vocabulary. These findings highlight the potential of digital media as a language learning tool, emphasizing the importance of appropriate content supervision.

The language used for interaction can be characterized by symbols that are arbitrary in nature. Indonesia, with its vast linguistic diversity, often experiences phenomena like code mixing in daily conversations, which reflects the dynamic interplay between different languages. One setting where this can be observed is in podcasts, which are increasingly popular in Indonesia. In the podcast "Agak Laen," uploaded to YouTube on July 17, 2023, titled Batak Satu Ini kan Yang Kalian Tunggu-tunggu, Raditya Dika, the conversation showcases a blend of languages, a common occurrence in Indonesia's multilingual environment. This study employs a qualitative research method with descriptive analysis to explore the use of multiple languages in the podcast. The analysis reveals that three languages are predominantly used: Indonesian, English, and the Medan regional language. Through these languages, various instances of code mixing emerge, illustrating how speakers fluidly transition between languages during casual conversations. The data collection was conducted using the Listen and Note Technique, which enabled the identification of several notable instances of code mixing throughout the podcast video. This research highlights the natural blending of languages in media content, emphasizing the linguistic hybridity prevalent in modern Indonesian communication, especially in the digital realm. Podcasts like Agak Laen serve as a rich source for analyzing how speakers navigate multilingualism, reflecting broader social and cultural patterns in language use in contemporary Indonesia.

An Analysis of Indonesian Spelling Errors in Fable Compositions of Class VII Students at Daarul Muqimien Middle School (2019/2020 Academic Year)

This study aims to describe the form of general guideline errors in Indonesian spelling contained in the fable compositions of class VII students of Daarul Muqimien Middle School, Sukadiri, in the 2019/2020 academic year. This researcher used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subject of this study was the fable texts of class VII students of Daarul Muqimien Middle School. The results of this study are as follows. First, the number of errors in the use of puebi contained in students' writing skills or compositions. The form of general guideline errors in Indonesian spelling (PUEBI) is divided into five aspects, namely errors in the use of capital letters, use of periods, use of commas, use of question marks, use of exclamation marks. From these five aspects, the following results were found; (1) errors in the use of capital letters as many as 47 cases of errors, (2) errors in the use of period punctuation as many as 21 cases of errors, (3) errors in the use of comma punctuation as many as 27 cases of errors, (4) errors in the use of question marks 6 cases of errors, (5) errors in the use of exclamation punctuation as many as 9 cases of errors. Second, From the percentage of errors, errors in the use of capital letters are the most dominant errors made by students, reaching 47 cases of errors. Furthermore, the least frequent error is the error in the use of question marks which reaches 6 cases of errors. From the results of the study, researchers can recommend an understanding of spelling and punctuation in learning so that this learning can improve student learning outcomes.

Analysis of Affixation Use Errors in Argumentation Texts in Grade X Students of SMA Bina Putra, Tangerang Regency

This research entitled (title) aims to describe students' mistakes in using affixation when creating text. Affixation errors are in the form of prefixes (prefixes), infixes (insertions), suffixes (endings), and confixes (combinations) contained in students' argumentative texts. This research was conducted because students still lack understanding about the correct use of affixation. This research uses a qualitative approach, descriptive methods and content analysis techniques. The data collected was the work of students in the form of argumentation texts for class. To analyze this work, this research used an instrument in the form of an affixation error analysis table. From the results of this analysis, there were 144 errors in the use of affixation. Based on the details, there were errors in prefixes (prefixes) in 54 words, suffixes (endings) in 3 words, confixes (combinations) in 57 words, and there were no errors in infixes (insertions). Mistakes occur as a result of students' lack of understanding of both the use of affixes and the vocabulary they have, so that their use is inaccurate and difficult to understand.

Communication seems simple but has various meanings because with communication someone can express their feelings. Assertive communication is the ability to express desires, feelings and thoughts to others while maintaining and respecting the rights and feelings of others. This study aims to interpret the value of assertive communication contained in the film Noktah Merah Perkawinan using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. The research method used is qualitative descriptive research with a semiotic theory approach. The results of the study using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach can be seen from the connotation, denotation and myth contained in the film Noktah Merah Perkawinan. The results of the interpretation by denotation, connotation and myth show that communication between couples is very much needed. Each partner needs to express their desires, feelings and what is on their minds. The inability to communicate with a partner can cause various problems in the household. The disharmony of a marriage occurs because both parties are unable to communicate well, so that many misunderstandings occur.

Based on the research that has been carried out, it is concluded that there is an influence from the use of social media on the speech acts of students in grades 4, 5 and 6 at SD Dhuhaa Islamic School. This is because of the speech acts or behavior shown by these students, which are included in the influence of social media.

A Socio-Cultural Value Embedded in English Textbook Seventh Grade Students of Junior High School

This study aimed to identify the central issues of socio-cultural values, understand how these socio-cultural values are implemented, and determine the dominance of specific socio-cultural values represented in the 7th grade English textbook titled "English for Nusantara.". The purpose of this study was to find out whether an English textbook for seventh grade students of junior high school published by Kemendikbudristek fulfilled the sociocultural value. The sociocultural aspects were analyzed based on criteria established by Purwoko (2010), with a particular emphasis on Indonesian sociocultural elements. The researchers used a descriptive qualitative research approach. The data triangulation for a socio-cultural analysis thesis using the English textbook 'English for Nusantara' was: documentation, interview, and forum group discussion. The data used in this research was written texts and visual images on the English textbook of seventh grade students of junior high school entitled “English for Nusantara." Data were gathered through document analysis of the English textbook "English for Nusantara," designed for seventh-grade students and published by Kemendikbudristek. The document analysis was conducted throughout the duration of the study. The researchers followed five steps to analyze the data: selecting the English textbook, identifying socio-cultural values, classifying these values, interpreting the socio-cultural values present in the textbook, and drawing conclusions. The results confirmed that the contents of the textbook fulfilled the socio-cultural values, particularly those relevant to Indonesian culture. The analysis was based on six sociocultural values identified by Purwoko: nomenclature, address terms, cultural information, cultural sites, socio-cultural traditions, and etiquette. Among these, nomenclature emerged as the dominant value represented in the textbook. The author effectively incorporated these socio-cultural elements, ensuring that while the textbook focused on the English language, it also preserved the socio-cultural context of the target learners' country.

This study focuses on the understanding of punctuation in short story writing skills with the aim of knowing the improvement of the ability to use punctuation in short story texts using the talking stick method in class IX students of SMPN 27 Tangerang City. The research method used in this study used Classroom Action Research (CAR). CAR makes it easier for educators to conduct research in finding out problems that occur in the classroom and finding solutions to problems found before and during the research. This study was carried out in three stages, namely pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. The research instrument in the study was assisted by using an analysis table containing the results of improving students' abilities in each cycle. The data collection techniques used were tests and field notes. The data that had been collected were then reviewed based on the findings of the use of punctuation in each sentence used by students in writing short story texts. The sample in this study was 35 class IX students of SMP Negeri 27 Tangerang City.

Application of Audio Visual Media to Improve Drama Text Writing Skills through Project Based Learning (PjBL) Model

This study aims to determine and describe the application of audio-visual media to improve the ability to write drama texts through the project-based learning (PjBL) model for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 5 Mesuji. This study is included in classroom action research (PTK) with 20 students as research subjects. The data collection method uses test, observation, interview, and documentation methods. The data analysis technique uses quantitative methods to observe student performance and assess the results of work in the form of drama texts. The results of the study indicate that the use of audio-visual media and the project-based learning model can improve the quality of learning to write drama texts, seen from changes in student attitudes in several aspects. Teacher activity in cycle I with a total score percentage obtained of 71.67% increased to 90% in cycle II. While student activity in cycle I with a total score percentage obtained of 70% and increased in cycle II to 86.7%. The total value of students' drama text writing skills in cycle I obtained 1035 or the average value of students classically was 51.75 with a percentage of completion of 10%. In cycle II, the total value of drama text writing skills increased by 1645 or the average value classically was 82.25 with a percentage of completion reaching 80%.

This study aims to determine and describe the application of Canva to improve the ability to write observation report texts (LHO) through the project learning model for class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Menang. This study includes Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 36 students as research subjects. The data collection method uses test, observation, and documentation methods. The data analysis technique uses quantitative methods to observe teacher performance and assess student work in the form of LHO texts. The results of the study showed that the use of Canva media and the project learning model improved the quality of learning to write LHO texts. Teacher activity in cycle I with a total score percentage obtained of 84% increased to 88% in cycle II. The total value of students' LHO text writing skills in cycle I obtained 2293 or the average classical student score was 63.70 with a percentage of completion of 36%. In cycle II, the total value of LHO text writing skills increased by 3099 or the average classical score was 86.10 with a percentage of completion reaching 100%.

This study aims to determine the development of teachers' adaptability in the use of digital technology in the 5.0 era at the Ash-Shidiqiyah Lawang Wetan Islamic Boarding School. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research type. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the participants including leaders, educators and education personnel benefited from the training delivered by resource persons who are experts in their fields, quite high enthusiasm, which can broaden their horizons and provide a positive impact so that they can develop teachers' abilities towards the application of the use of digital technology in the 5.0 era at the Ash-Shidiqiyah Lawang Wetan Islamic Boarding School.

Pragmatic Elements in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Textbooks in Senior High Schools of Pekanbaru

This study aims to analyze the pragmatic elements present in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) textbooks used in senior high schools in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Specifically, it examines the coverage of speech acts, metapragmatic strategies, and contextual variables in two widely used textbooks: Buku Sarana Elektronik (BSE) and Pathway to English, for grades X, XI, and XII. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with document analysis techniques, drawing data from the textbooks and interviews with English teachers in Pekanbaru. The findings reveal that the coverage of speech acts in both textbooks is incomplete, with an overemphasis on directives such as commands, requests, and suggestions. These speech acts, often face-threatening, require higher pragmatic competence from learners, which the textbooks do not adequately support. Additionally, metapragmatic information provided in the textbooks is limited and focuses more on pragmalinguistics than sociopragmatic factors, leaving students underprepared for real-life communication where social norms and contextual variables such as power dynamics play a crucial role. The textbooks also lack diversity in contextual variables, with most dialogues featuring interactions between individuals of equal power and little social distance, reducing learners’ exposure to various social roles and communication contexts. The study concludes that both BSE and Pathway to English fail to provide sufficient pragmatic content and suggests that future textbook design should include a broader range of speech acts, metapragmatic strategies, and diverse social contexts to better develop learners' pragmatic competence. The findings have significant implications for improving the effectiveness of teaching materials in Indonesian EFL classrooms.

Optik Tunggal is a company operating in the eye-related retail sector. Optik Tunggal serves eye refraction, sales of various glasses, sales of contact lenses, and so on related to the eyes. Service is essential because it influences the level of sales in a business. Optik Tunggal continues to strive to make improvements and developments in terms of both products and services. This research aims to determine customer satisfaction with Optik Tunggal services using the service quality method. This service quality method measures the level of satisfaction using five dimensions, namely physical appearance (tangible), reliability, responsiveness, empathy, and assurance. The research was carried out by distributing questionnaires to Optik Tunggal customers who had eye examinations and purchased products in May 2023, totaling 45 respondents, which were then processed using the Service Quality method. The research results show a gap of – 1.19 between the actual service received and customer expectations. The physical appearance dimension has a gap value of -1.05, the reliability dimension -1.19, the responsiveness dimension -1.12, the empathy dimension -1.25, and the assurance dimension -1.36

Rapid technological advances are transforming artificial intelligence (AI) into a very powerful tool in political campaigns, almost all digital platforms make it possible to personalize content and connect directly to voters. The purpose of this study is to explain the influence of AI-based political campaigns on the perceptions and decisions of Generation Z voters in Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method to 395 respondents aged 17-29 years, active in various social media and participating in the 2024 Presidential Election. The results of the study explain that the effect of artificial intelligence (AI)-based political campaigns on perceptions is 91.5% and voter decisions is 96.7%, this explains that artificial intelligence (AI)-based political campaigns have a very significant influence on the perceptions and decisions of Generation Z voters in Indonesia. The practical implications of AI-based political campaigns include being able to personalize campaigns more effectively, optimizing campaign resources, managing candidate images, increasing voter interaction, and monitoring and regulating ethics.

The quality of financial reports is essential information for producing high-quality financial statements, which are valuable to both companies and business practitioners. This study aims to examine the effects of accounting comprehension and capital adequacy on the quality of financial reports, both individually and simultaneously, for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Pancoran Mas District, Depok City. This quantitative research used a random sampling technique by distributing questionnaires to respondents, resulting in a sample of 76 participants. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS Version 26. The partial analysis results indicated a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05 for accounting comprehension, showing its influence on financial report quality, while the capital adequacy variable had a significance value of 0.037 < 0.05, indicating its impact as well. The F-test yielded a significance level of 0.000 with an F-calculated value of 24.642, compared to an F-table value of 3.12, where sig < 0.05 and F-calculated > F-table. Thus, it can be concluded that accounting comprehension and capital adequacy have a simultaneous effect on the quality of financial reports. Therefore, it can be said that SMEs with strong accounting understanding and sufficient capital are likely to produce high-quality financial reports.

In recent years—and even dating back to the 1970s and 1980s—the Indonesian horror film genre has consistently drawn large audiences to theaters. Conceptually, this study examines this phenomenon by employing Max Horkheimer’s theory of rational and irrational dialectics, Jean Baudrillard’s concept of simulacrum, and Textual Analysis applied to horror film posters and narratives from the 1970s to the 2000s, alongside select Asian horror films that resonate with audiences. The rational and irrational dialectic emerges prominently in Indonesian horror films, as viewers grapple with the interplay between reality and the supernatural depicted in posters and narratives that serve as simulacra, ultimately becoming modern myths. Philosophically, this dialectic presents a dilemma where humans navigate rationality and irrationality in attempting to dismiss mythological elements. Simulacrum, in this context, represents a duplication without an original, blurring the line between the copy and the real. Textual Analysis, rooted in media and cultural studies, is employed here as a methodology for examining texts that contain meaningful signs. Most Indonesian horror film posters and narratives feature terrifying creatures without real-world references. As a result, despite a dip in popularity during the 1990s, horror films from the 1970s through the 2000s have frequently achieved high viewership, especially those based on legendary tales familiar to audiences. These recurring themes, perpetuated through film posters and narratives, are further reinforced by makeup, animation techniques, and CGI (Computer Generated Imagery), all of which bring the horror elements to life.

This article discusses curriculum changes in Indonesia from the perspective of educational sociology, focusing on the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy. Using a qualitative approach through literature review, this research examines how the curriculum functions as a social instrument influenced by and influencing various social factors. The 2013 Curriculum emphasizes competency-based learning aimed at developing critical and creative skills, while MBKM provides students with opportunities to engage in practical learning experiences outside the classroom. The findings indicate that curriculum changes have significantly impacted social interactions within educational settings, enhancing student engagement and building more adaptive individual character. However, challenges such as infrastructure gaps and educator readiness persist in its implementation. This study suggests stronger collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and society to address these challenges and achieve inclusive and relevant educational goals.

This research explores the role of positive thinking in the context of learning English as a foreign language, focusing on students' perceptions of how their optimistic outlook influences their language learning experiences. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the study combines quantitative data from a survey administered to 100 undergraduate students at the University of Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur with qualitative insights from semi-structured interviews. The findings reveal that students generally exhibit high levels of positive thinking, which significantly impacts their motivation, reduces anxiety, increases class participation, fosters resilience, and enhances overall academic performance and satisfaction. Quantitative analysis shows strong positive correlations between positive thinking and various aspects of language learning, while qualitative data provide deeper insights into how positive thinking helps students set and achieve goals, build confidence, engage actively in class, overcome challenges, and enjoy the learning process. This study contributes to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence on the benefits of positive thinking in language learning. It underscores the importance of integrating positive psychology principles into language education to improve student outcomes. This study explorethe contribution of the Al Islam Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) course to the character education of non-Muslim students at the Muhammadiyah University of East Kalimantan. The aim is to identify how AIK influences the formation of values such as tolerance, justice, devotion, and social responsibility in non-Muslim students. With a case study approach, this study involved non-Muslim students who had taken AIK as subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observations to understand their experiences and perceptions of the values taught in AIK. The results of the analysis showed five main themes: tolerance, devotion, justice, attitude change, and openness in interfaith dialogue. AIK was shown to encourage non-Muslim students to respect religious and cultural differences, form an attitude of mutual respect, and increase a sense of social responsibility. This study provides new insights into the importance of AIK in creating an inclusive, tolerant, and multicultural educational environment. It is hoped that these findings can support the development of character education in other multicultural universities and strengthen harmony between students from various religious backgrounds.

This study aims to examine the influence of students’ reading anxiety and students’ reading comprehension on eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Muara Badak. The dependent variable in this research is reading comprehension while the independent variable is reading anxiety. This research was conducted on class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Muara Badak, with total 60 respondents. This research used quantitative method. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire by testing students' reading anxiety and students' reading comprehension. Multiple regression analysis techniques using SPSS 27 (Statistical Product and Service Solution 27) are used to analyze the data. The results of this research showed several conclusions that can be conveyed. First, reading anxiety for all students provides a significant correlation to their reading comprehension achievement with r 0.896. This can be seen in the high level of correlation. It can be proven that different levels of reading anxiety have a significant influence on students' achievement of reading comprehension. Second, it can be concluded that students' reading anxiety has a significant influence on students' reading comprehension achievement. This showed that one of the psychological factors, namely reading anxiety, has an important contribution to the success of students' reading achievement. This research may have some pedagogical implications for future researchers and students.
