Abstract

High productivity of broiler chickens can be achieved by maintaining the health of the digestive tract, because optimal utilization of feed nutrients will only be obtained if the digestive tract is in a healthy state. One way that can be done to improve the health of the digestive tract is by adding probiotics to the ration. This study aims to produce natural additif feeds that can increase the digestibility of poultry feed substances in vitro. This research was conducted from July to September 2018 at the Experimental Cage of Animal Husbandry Study Program and Laboratory of Nutrition and Animal Feeding, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Treatment (P1) pineapple waste 100%, (P2) 98% pineapple waste : 2% Indigofera zollingeriana, (P3): 96% pineapple waste : 4% Indigofera zollingeriana, (P4): 94% pineapple waste : 6% Indigofera zollingeriana, (P5): 92% pineapple waste : 8% Indigofera zollingeriana. The parameters observed were dry matter digestibility, crude fiber digestibility and crude protein digestibility in-vitro. The results showed that the addition of biomass from liquid fermented pineapple waste and leaves of Indigofera zollingeriana into the ration had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the digestibility of crude fiber and crude protein in vitro. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the best combination is 92% pineapple waste: 8% Indigofera zollingeriana because it can increase digestibility of crude protein, crude fiber and dry matter.
